Affordable Game Lodge (Tremisana Lodge)

Take a mesmerizing Affordable Game Lodge Kruger safari (Tremisana Game Lodge). You cannot choose the chalet number you want to stay in, as this is done based on the group booked for your dates. Some units are for example better suited for families, while others are better suited for couples.

The accommodation on this Greater Kruger Safari, is at Tremisana Game Lodge (an affordable good value for money lodge for the budget conscious tourist who likes to socialize), located in Balule Private Game Reserve open to Kruger Park without fences between the two reserves.

The chalet is fully equipped with its own beds and en-suite bathroom.

Itineraries

DAY 1: We collect our clients from all hotels, guesthouses, private homes or the airport. We drive in an air-conditioned vehicle via the Highveld farmlands to the picturesque Lowveld and Tremisana Lodge. You may rest in your air-conditioned chalet, have a quick refreshing dip in the pool, unwind at the bar or relax in the beautiful gardens. At around 17h00 we board the open Landcruiser for an exciting Big Five Sunset Drive. Your qualified guide will facilitate your first thrilling opportunity to experience the varied African fauna and flora. Watch the magnificent African sunset, and after darkness falls, use powerful spotlights to locate nocturnal animals. Dinner will be a BUSH BRAAI at the Marula Tree Boma deep in the bush. Overnight in comfortable, air-conditioned en suite thatch-roofed chalets.

DAY 2: Drive to the Orpen Gate of Kruger Park. Your custom-built open-sided vehicle allows for a total wildlife experience – you will not only have time to view game, but also to listen to and smell the African bush and its denizens. The absence of windows and elevated position allow for excellent photographic opportunities. The Orpen/Satara region has the greatest concentration of animals in the whole of Kruger Park. You will have a great day of game-viewing and bird-watching in this truly outstanding wildlife paradise.

DAY 3: Enjoy an early morning Sunrise Drive on the open Landcruiser. After a hearty breakfast, there is an opportunity to purchase some memorabilia from our shop and take your last photos of the lush luxuriant gardens at Tremisana. We then drive to the awesome Blyde River Canyon and view the Three Rondawels (not available for single travellers). We return to Gauteng in the late afternoon. Airport drop-off by arrangement.

We travel via the Highveld farmlands to the picturesque subtropical Lowveld and on to Tremisana Game Lodge in the Balule Section of the Kruger Park. After a short break during which you may unwind at the bar, have a swim or relax in the tropical gardens, we board the open Landcruiser for a 3h Sunset Drive. Your guide will show you various animals and birds and after dark, use spotlights to locate nocturnal species. Dinner will be a BUSH BRAAI in our Marula Tree Boma deep in the African bush. Overnight in comfortable air-conditioned en suite thatch-roofed chalets.

DAY  2:  Awaken at sunrise for an exhilarating day of unforgettable bush life. Drive to a remote venue, where you enjoy a 4h “ walk in the wild ”. Your experienced field guides will lead you through the bush at a pace you can handle in search of the Big Five. The thrill of following Africa’s large animals until you are close enough to take a decent photo will remain with you forever. Adrenalin surges will be acute, notwithstanding the fact that your rangers are adequately armed in case of danger. Return to Tremisana for brunch. Later you may sleep in your air conditioned chalet or swim in the pool. Our Lapa has extensive wildlife magazines. Visit the game viewing Hide overlooking Tremisana Dam.A light lunch will be served and at around 15h30 we go on a 4 h game drive on Balule Big 5 Game Reserve. On the game drive your rangers will be in radio contact so as to keep us informed of the movements of the game. We stop for Sundowners at a magnificent location and toast the splendour of Africa. Return to Tremisana at around 19h30.

 DAY  3:  We travel to the Orpen Gate of Kruger Park where we board our open Gameviewer. The absence of windows and the elevated vantage position allow for excellent photographic opportunities. You will have an amazing chance not only to view game but also to listen to and smell the African bush and its denizens. There will be regular stops at picnic spots, rest camps and places of interest. Your experienced ranger will show you many animals and birds that frequent this wildlife paradise. The Orpen-Satara-Nwanedzi regions boast open plains and support large herds of zebra, giraffe and antelope that attract numerous predators. In fact the zones we visit have the highest concentration of lions in Africa !

The thrill of following big animals will remain with you forever. Adrenalin surges will be acute, notwithstanding that your rangers are adequately armed. Return to Tremisana for brunch. Later you may sleep in your air-conditioned chalet, swim or read wildlife magazines in our Lapa Lounge. A light lunch will be served and at around 15h30, we enjoy a 4 h game drive on Balule Big Five Game Reserve. We stop for Sundowners and toast the splendour of Africa. The rangers are in constant contact so as to be informed of the movements of the animals. Return to Tremisana at 19h30.

DAY 3: Drive to the Orpen Gate of Kruger on a custom-built open-sided Game Viewer. You will have an opportunity to view game without intervening glass windows and also listen to and smell the denizens of the bush. We have regular stops at picnic spots, rest camps and places of interest. The Orpen-Satara-Nwanedzi region’s open plains attract large herds of zebra, giraffe and antelope, that, in turn, attract many predators. In fact this zone has the highest concentration of lions in Africa.

DAY 4: Today we enjoy a morning tour of the Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre for injured and orphaned animals and birds. You will have an opportunity to get close and personal to some of the residents, including lions and leopards. Return to Tremisana Lodge for a light lunch. At around 15h00 we enjoy a 3 h game drive on Balule Game Reserve.

DAY 5: Enjoy a Sunrise Drive. After breakfast, drive via the Panorama Route to see the scenic splendours including the Three Rondawels and the Blyde River Canyon (not available for single travellers). We return to Gauteng in the late afternoon. Airport drop-off by arrangement. Tariff includes all transfers, entries , game drives/walks breakfasts and dinners. Tariff excludes lunches, drinks and personals.

At around 15h00 we enjoy a 3 h game drive in Balule. Return to Tremisana for dinner and overnight.

DAY  5:  Enjoy another full day of game viewing in the Kruger National Park.

After lunch, there is time to have a siesta and enjoy a relaxing afternoon. At around 17h00, go on another Sunset Drive and Bush BBQ at the famed Marula Boma.

DAY  6:  Enjoy another full day of game viewing in the Kruger National Park.

Make your way to the Domestic Arrivals section on the ground floor of O R Tambo Airport.

Walk outside to the tarmac road. Walk pass all 3 domestic arrival entrances. You will see a big YELLOW sign marked “Shuttle/long term parking”. It is situated in front of the permit control office. Wait directly beneath this yellow sign. One of our drivers will come to collect you between 09h00 and 9h15 am. Our driver will be in his vehicle so keep a look out on the road section.
